1 ½ lbs 93/7 ground beef

1 cup diced onion

2 Tbsp minced garlic

15 oz crushed tomatoes

15 oz tomato sauce

2 Tbsp Tomato Paste

2 Bay Leaves

1 Tbsp Italian seasoning

1 tsp sugar

½ cup beef broth

16 oz uncooked spaghetti

24 oz broccoli

3 oz shredded parmesan cheese

Preparation Instructions

  • Mince 2 Tbsp garlic and dice 1 cup of onions. 
  • Open your cans of crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste.

  • Heat the pot of your pressure cooker to saute on high heat. 
  • Add the ground beef and cook until all of the beef is browned. 
  • Add the garlic and onion to the beef and cook for another 3 minutes, or until the onions are softened. 
  • Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, bay leaves, Italian seasoning, sugar, and beef broth to the pot.
  • Seal the pot and cook on high heat for 20 min. 
  • Boil a pot of water (about 4 quarts) on the stove. Once boiling, add the spaghetti and cook until al dente (8-10 min). 
  • Reserve ¼ cup of the pasta water, then strain and set aside. 
  • Steam the broccoli according to the package instructions or by heating about ½ inch of water in a pan and cooking with the lid for 8-12 min.  
  • When the pressure cooker is done, release the pressure through the valve on top then remove the lid on and stir. Add the ¼ cup reserved pasta water and stir to combine.
