Ingredients

  • 2 cups uncooked rice
  • 1 tsp seasoning salt
  • 2 cups bone broth (chicken)
  • 2 green bell peppers
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 stalks celery, diced
  • 2 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp seasoning salt
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb 99% lean ground turkey
  • 1 lb ground Italian sausage
  • 1 Tbsp Cajun seasoning

Preparation Instructions

  • Rinse the rice, then add 2 cups of water and 2 cups of bone broth, then cook in either a rice cooker or on the stove. If you are using an instant pot, skip the extra 2 cups of water. 
  • Dice the green bell peppers, onion, and celery and place in a bowl. some text

  • Mince garlic and set aside
  • Combine the ground turkey, Italian sausage, and Cajun seasoning salt. 

Cooking Instructions

  • Heat a pan over medium heat on the stove. Add the olive oil to the pan, then add the onion, celery, and bell pepper.
  • Add 1 tsp seasoning salt to the mix, then cook until tender. 
  • Add the garlic to the pan and allow to cook for 1 more minute. 
  • Remove from the pan, then add the ground meat to the pan. 
  • Cook until all of the sausage is cooked through, breaking into small pieces. 
  • When the sausage is cooked through, add the vegetables back in and stir to combine. 
  • In a large bowl, combine the sausage mixture and the rice. 

For each serving: 

  • 375 g rice mixture
